Ingredients
  

  • 3 tbsp Earth Balance butter
  • 1 cup soy milk unsweetened, NO SODIUM BENZOATE
  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup flour unbleached
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 3/4 cup salsa
  • 2 tbsp jalapeno peppers Canned, chopped, optional

Instructions
 

  • Warm butter and soy milk together in a medium pan over low heat.
  • Add in the garlic powder, salt, and onion powder, stirring constantly.
  • Fold in the peanut butter and stir until melted.
  • Whisk in the flour a small amount of flour at a time and whisk until smooth. Heat until mixture has thickened, approximately 5-6 minutes.
  • Whisk in nutritional yeast, salsa, and jalapeno peppers.
  • Allow to cool a bit before serving. Cheese sauce will thicken as it cools.
  • Add a can of vegetarian chili for a chili cheesy dip or to pour over French fries.
