Roasted Cauliflower Steaks and Mushroom Gravy

I bet you have never had cauliflower like this before. Super simple, quick and flavorful cauliflower steaks with a delicious mushroom gravy. Be ready to make your tastbuds happy with this one!!

  • Baking Sheet
  • Medium Saucepan
  • Food Processor


  • 1 medium head cauliflower
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Mushroom Gravy

  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 each shallot
  • 1 lb sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup raw pecans
  • 3/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp fresh rosemary
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chickpea flour

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Line baking dish with parchement paper.
  • Slice the cauliflower into 3/4 inch thick steaks and place on lined baking dish.
  • Drizzle the cauliflower with olive oil and then sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, black pepper and the nutritional yeast. Make sure the steaks are evenly seasoned and place in oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown and tender.
  • Heat 2 tsp of oil in med sauce pan.
  • Slice your shallots into 4 pieces and process until it is finely chopped. Add the shallots in the pan.
  • Mince your garlic and add to pan.
  • add pecans to the processor and finely chop, then add pecans to pan.
  • Pulse half of the mushrooms in the processor until finely chopped and then add to the pan. let the mixture continue to cook for another 3 minutes. Add your rosemary, salt, pepper and continue cooking until the liquid has boiled off.
  • Coat the mushrooms in the flour, stir into the broth and simmer until the gravy is nice and creamy.
  • Serve the steaks with gravy and a green salad or a side of green beans. enjoy!!
