Barbecue Seitan Skewers

  • 8 oz seitan cubed
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce divided, low sugar, no preservatives
  • 1 cup red bell pepper large chopped pieces
  • 1 cup green bell pepper large chopped pieces
  • 12 whole cremini mushrooms
  • 1 cup zucchini large chopped pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 4 wooden skewers metal or wooden


  • Place the seitan into a medium sized bowl then add 1/4 cup of barbecue sauce; stir to coat. Marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Soak the skewers in water for 20 minutes if they are wooden, if they are metal this step is unnecessary.
  • Brush the grill with olive oil then thread the seitain and veggies onto the skewers.
  • Grill the skewers, covered, over medium-high heat for 8 minutes or until seitan is hot and glazed with sauce. Brush skewers with any remaining sauce; turning occasionally to avoid burning. Enjoy!
