  • 1 large cooking pot


  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large celery stock diced
  • 1 large carrot diced
  • 1 cup red lentils
  • 6 cups water filtered
  • 1/2 tsp cumin ground
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice fresh squeezed


  • In a saucepan, add tbsp of water Add onion and garlic on mid-high heat for about 2 minutes. 
  • Then add celery and carrots and cook on moderate heat for 5 minutes. 
  • Add 6 cups of water to a large cooking pan and add all ingredients except lemon juice. 
  • Cover and cook on moderate heat for 20 minutes, 
    after 20 minutes turn the heat on low for another 20 minutes. 
  • Stir every couple of minutes.
  • Add lemon juice at 35 minutes into the cooking process.
