Equipment

  • Stove

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour no bleached flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup warm water

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix flour and water together. Add oil and water to make a stiff dough. You may need to adjust the water depending on the flour but dough should be stiff. Divide into 8 balls and roll out each ball on a lightly floured surface until thin as possible but without holes.
  • Heat a nonstick comal or skillet over medium heat. Cook tortillas one at a time, flipping when bubbles begin to appear. Keep warm by wrapping in paper towels or a tortilla warmer while the others are cooking.

Notes

Store tortillas in a paper towel lined Ziploc bag in the refrigerator for up to days.
Also, try baking up a couple of tortillas to make a healthy tortilla chips by placing in the oven for 5-6 minutes on each side and lightly salting to season.
