Spicy Tofu Scramble

  • Stove


  • 1 block extra firm tofu pressed
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 small red chili paper minced
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 3/4 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce low sodium, NO SODIUM BENZOATE
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp nutritional yeast optional


  • Break up tofu into 1 inch crumbles using your fingers or cut into squares. Set aside.
  • In a medium pan, sauté onions and garlic in the olive oil until onions are translucent.
  • Add in the tofu crumbles, chili pepper, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Stir until well mixed.
  • Stir in the remaining ingredients, except the nutritional yeast, stirring constantly. Allow to cook until tofu is lightly browned on all sides, approximately 6-8 minutes.
  • Remove from the stove and add in the nutritional yeast and serve immediately.


Eat in a bowl or add to a tortilla for a breakfast burrito.
