Ingredients
  

Marinade

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce low sodium, NO SODIUM BENZOATE
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp agave nectar
  • 1/2 tsp smoke paprika powder
  • 1/2 tsp liquid smoke Brand: Wright's Liquid Smoke

Base

  • 28 oz braised wheat gluten (mock duck) canned, drained, patted dry

Cooking

Instructions
 

  • Mix all the marinade ingredients together in a large bowl.
  • Place the wheat gluten pieces in the marinade; mix well. Place in the refrigerator to marinate for about 2 hours then remove pieces from the marinade and set to the side.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, pour enough of the broth to thinly coat the bottom of the pan and cook the pieces for 5 minutes on each side. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Tip: Reserve some of the marinade as a flavoring for a homemade gravy for your "steak".
