Ingredients
  

  • 3 1/4 cups Water
  • 2 Tomatoes diced
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 4oz Can of Green Chiles Mild diced
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Coriander
  • 2 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 1/4 cups Yellow Split Peas rinsed and drained
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger chopped
  • 1 tsp Grapeseed oil
  • 3 cups Baby Spinach

Instructions
 

  • Soak yellow peas for a medium-large bowl in warm water for 45 minutes
  • Drain and move to a large saucepan
  • Add the water to the large saucepan and bring to boil
  • Add salt and reduce heat to medium cook for 40 minutes until peas are tender
  • Add cilantro, spinach, tomatoes stir on very low heat
  • Heat oil in a small skillet on medium heat
  • Add garlic, ginger, and chile to small skillet heat for about a minute
  • Remove from the heat and add lemon juice, coriander, cumin, turmeric and stir well
  • Add the mixture to the dal and stir, then serve
